The Besla 1500 is the largest of the range — a 14.94 m electric steel yacht, the Dutch builder's flagship, for an owner who wants a full-size silent cruiser with the volume of a small ship.
The numbers
Like the 1300 it runs twin Fischer Panda electric motors (2 × 20 kW) on a Victron lithium bank, for a 7.6-knot top speed — the fastest in the range, helped by the longer waterline. A diesel range-extender generator is standard, so it is a series hybrid; the battery is quoted in ampere-hours and range in hours, left unconverted here. CE design category C.
The builder
Besla is built in steel at the Friesland Boating yard in Koudum to a Vripack design, by a yard that also charters its own boats. At €719,000 excluding VAT it is the top of a three-boat range and priced firmly in the luxury bracket.
